Statement of Commitment to Wellbeing and COVID Safety
Rye preschool recognises the importance of staying safe and well during a pandemic. We are committed to ensuring all children, staff and families and community are supported to make informed decisions about their health and safety. Rye Preschool will continue to provide information on the latest health advice from the Victorian Government, the department of Health and the Department of Education.
Rye Preschool has implemented the following measures to ensure health and safety at our kinder.
- Hand washing on arrival to the centre.
- Sanitiser available at all entrances.
- Daily cleaning and sanitizing of all surfaces including chairs, tables, floors, bathrooms, resources, and high touch surfaces.
- Ensuring all children and staff stay home if unwell, including contacting parents to pick up children who may exhibits signs of being unwell during a session.
- Face masks available for all persons to wear inside as required.
- Air purifiers used in classroom and office area. Opening windows and doors when appropriate for increased ventilation.
- Continue to regular COVID -19 testing using the rapid Antigen test (RAT) provided to each family and staff by the Education department.
- Ensuring all children have an opportunity for outdoor play during a session.
- All relevant guidelines are adhered to in a timely manner, including latest mandates from the State and Federal governments.
- Relevant authorities are contacted to report positive cases and outbreaks as per current guidelines.
- Maintaining and regularly reviewing Rye Preschool COVID – 19 safe plan.
Rye preschool supports each family through their early childhood education journey. This includes ensuring all children who are at home for extended periods of time are given opportunities for the continued learning, provided to them by their classroom teacher.
Rye Preschool acknowledges the importance of staying home if unwell. We thank our community for assisting in keeping everyone safe during times of increased illness.
